PrintFlex is First in North America to Tap New Technology from Gallus, a HEIDELBERG Company

First Gallus One Digital Press in North America at PrintFlex Graphics

PrintFlex, a flexographic print solutions company, is the first in North America to install new print technology from Gallus, a HEIDELBERG Company, a leading, global manufacturer of printing presses. The Gallus One, an advanced digital label press, expands PrintFlex’s ability to produce short run labeling projects in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Printing has evolved greatly since the company’s founding in 1995, offering an ever-growing opportunity to take advantage of technology built into today’s presses for greater flexibility, quality and efficiency.

“As we considered an addition to our line-up of presses, we recognized the advanced capabilities this technology offers, as well as the skills we’d have to develop to operate the interface, which resembles a gaming console to me.” said Liz Pecha-Poelker, President of PrintFlex. “We were fortunate to spend time with our partners at Gallus ensuring not only proper integration into our workflows but also training for our team to quickly become proficient with the new technology.”

The Gallus One is the fourth in PrintFlex’s fleet of presses, complemented by ten finishing machines. Capabilities range from printing long and short runs of simple labels to complex promotional tags, booklets, and informational packets that must accompany products as they hit store shelves. PrintFlex exclusively focuses its business on flexographic printing, a process which allows for printing on a wide variety of materials, making it ideal for on-pack promotional labels, coupons, and other types of items that adhere to retail packaging.

Being the first company in North America to operate the Gallus One press will allow PrintFlex to expand upon the world class service customers have come to depend on. Many customers find themselves in need of smaller quantities of products or promotional labels for specific promotions or smaller product lines. Those types of jobs aren’t well suited for traditional presses. The Gallus One gives PrintFlex the capability to deliver what customers need through a state-of-the-art press they currently don’t have access to anywhere else on the continent.

PrintFlex plans to add another high-speed press for long-run label printing this summer to further enhance its capabilities.
